Test Equipment Design Engineer

Support ESG production with test fixtures. Write instructions and equipment maintenance procedures to facilitate consistent and predictable product testing. Work directly with operations and project management to ensure project timelines are met. Work with electrical, mechanical and firmware team to create test fixtures. Assist design engineers in the selection of components to meet specified requirements. Advise design engineers on best practices to ensure reliable and cost-effective methods for product testing. Quickly resolve engineering, manufacturing and technical issues. Set-up, record, and analyze basic acoustic, light and electrical measurements. Review drawings and other engineering documentation. Perform other duties as assigned or needed to support ESG's Mission Statement and Company Goals. Work with Process Engineer so procedures meet production needs.
Qualifications:
Required Bachelor of Science, Engineering, (Mechanical, Electrical, or Firmware preferred), or commensurate combination of education and experience. Good working knowledge of electrical circuits and automotive wiring (12 volt systems). Experience with soldering, crimping and other electrical connections. Working knowledge of digital and analog circuitry (design, test, troubleshooting) preferred. Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal, e.g. ability to prepare, present and discuss project-related plans, requirements, test results, etc. in a team-based work environment. Ability to write effective component & product requirements documents. Comprehensive, working knowledge of the Microsoft Office (intermediate to advanced skill level in Excel), plus ECAD and MCAD design software. Introductory knowledge of the principles, procedures and measurements of EMC, RF, microwave, visible light, and audio energy. Comprehensive, working knowledge of manufacturing processes & production test procedures. History of progressive responsibility a plus. Experience with PCA testing (i.e., bed of nails). Experience using Altium, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, & Cypress. Familiarity with acoustical measurement equipment and software. Experience with 3D printing, CNC machining, and various prototyping methodologies. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The team member frequently is required to sit and occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The team member must be able to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.Equipment Operated:
Acoustics analyzing equipment (SPL meters, anechoic chamber, etc.). Light measurement equipment (light tunnel, integrating sphere, colorimeter, photometer, etc.) Manufacturing equipment (solder, glue gun, hand tools, torque gauge, machine shop equipment, etc.).
